MT. LEMMON
Mt. Lemmon, in Tucson, Arizona, proves that the desert is not all sand and scorching heat

The shade from trees like this majestic pine, provide welcome relief from the heat

Fernery and grass tempers hot desert summers on Mt. Lemmon

REID PARK ZOO SNAPSHOTS
These giant tortoises are very cool to watch..but plan on spending some time..they move slowly!
Taken in Tucson, Arizona, at Reid Park Zoo

The giraffes at Reid Park Zoo, in Tucosn, Arizona, have quite successfully bred many times and have supplied healthy baby giraffes to zoos in other states

This peacock, at Reid Park Zoo, in Tucson, Arizona, put on one beautiful display for us this day
OUT OF AFRICA
Two years ago was the last time we went to Out of Africa, when it used to be outside of Phoenix, Arizona. For a small fee, you can feed the tigers!

Out of Africa has since moved now, to a larger area of land, where they can expand even more. I believe it is now Near Camp Verde, Arizona....1 1/2 hours from Sedona, Arizona.

BIOSPHERE 2
Inside, from the living quarters, you can see the infrastructure.

The rainforest, and below that, just out of sight in this photo, is the coral reef and ocean

Biosphere 2 is an interesting place to visit, and I got alot of wonderful photos each time we visit. These are but a sample of what you'll see when you go.

OSTRICH

Here's an up close photo of an ostrich I took, a few years back, at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Farm in Marana, Arizona. They also have adorable deer there, and you can feed both the deer and the ostrich. HOWEVER, be aware, that ostrich BITE!!! They may look 'glamorous' with their long eyelashes and fluffy feathers, but these guys are vicious when food is around. It's reminiscent of a shark feeding frenzy, no joke!
IGUANAS

These guys I snapped at D&M's Reptile Rescue in Marana, Arizona

FIREWORKS !
Golden flower

The famous blue bursts

Fiery red flower

Cool green sparklers

The Grand Finale

Fireworks are very difficult to capture on film, just like Christmas lights are difficult to capture on film. I took dozens and dozens of photos that year, and came up with perhaps a dozen that I found of good quality. Enjoy!

SKIES OVER TUCSON
Stormy skies over Tucson, Arizona

A spectacular Tucson, Arizona sunset - look at those colors and cloud fomations!

COTTON

STARS
Albireo - a binary star

Antares - 5th brightest star

I took these photos in 2004's summer, from Flandrau Planetarium and Observatory's telescope. I was amazed and pleased at how well these came out.

VARIOUS CACTI
"Cactus In A Line"

I took this photo many years ago in Tucson, Arizona, on a 35mm camera. I recently scanned it to digital format.
